A white trailer pulled up near the barn. he knew he was kind of late for the year. But it was the earliest he could come. It wasn't his fault he had had a competition to go to. Still, he was here. It was as early as he could come. He couldn't wait to see his old friend Chaviva. He wondered how she had been doing.
James Harrison Roberts knew that Chaviva could run this place easily by herself. He doubted he was ever much help. He wasn't exactly the most responcible person in the world. But, she still needed a friend didn't she? Well, he would help anyway he could, Chaviva knew that. He wondered how this place was going so far. He knew it was running smoothly. It always would as long as Chaviva was here.
He wanted to go see her, it had infact been quite sometime. James didn't like not seeing his friends. But, his horses came first. His horses wouldn't understand, Chaviva would. Stepping out of the car he walked over and opened the trailer. Two dark forms sped out. One was splattere with white, the other only around his feet.. The two stopped right outside his reach.
Oh well, he knew they'd follow him. Grabbing his grooming kit he walked towards the barn. the two forms right behind him. They kept thregtening to run away. But he knew they wouldn't. Reaching the barn he walked back to where Chaviva's pride was stabled. Opening the two stalls across from the mare his two little rascals walked in.
James slipped in to Rivers Edge stall. He pulled out his curry come. He left it on the hay. First he had to do a thorough check over to make sure she was in perfect condition. So, he began to run his hands down the mares legs.

Chaviva had been sitting in her mansion gazing out an upstairs window, reading Les Misrables. She found it a very dull book, but having taken French she was able to pick up names accurately. Her eyes wanted to skim the slow pages until the story got interesting (if it ever did) but there were too many details to sift out the important information. She sighed and turned a page, a car drove in. Chaviva paid no mind, simply brushed a lock of hair from her face and looked back at the page. Suddenly a thought came to her...Amanda wasn't in the office building, she should be down there to greet whoever it was. Swiftly rolling off the couch, the woman landed on her feet and snapped Les Misrables shut. Any excuse to get away from that book...she decided. Iksir was standing by the main staircase when Chaviva stepped past and swept down its long decor. Dark maple and cherry wood paraded her all the way to the main hall with the stone floor. At her own front door, the lady stopped and glanced in a large mirror. Her face was in good order, mascara correctly applied as well as a matching tone of lipstick. Nodding she pushed too short strands of hair back from her face and stepped outside.
The trainer wore black english riding pants and boots, a black button up shirt, and a gold necklace. In the entry-way Chaviva picked up her riding gloves out of habit and put them on her slender hands - bare of a covenant ring. Sighing for a moment she glanced at them and looked around for the new vehicle. It was a white trailer she felt like a little girl for a moment, and a childish smile crossed her face. It was James, a good friend of hers to say the least. He'd finally arrived, stalking across to the barn she silently watched his two horses move inside their stalls freely. Acting as if they owned the place. Ansam across the isle snorted a hello, Silent Echo's stall was empty. The horse was out to his own private paddock.
"Well hi there stranger," Chaviva said, entering the barn and patting her friend's other horse's muzzle while she watched him tending to Rivers Edge. "How was the trip?"

"Good," said James finishing th run over Rivers Edge. She look out the stall to see the person that he knew would be there. He tipped the cowboy hat he was wearing. He climbed out over the door as opsed to opening it. That was just too normal for him. He perched himself on the edge of the door. He crossed his denom clad legs.
"Hey there," he said his classic smile on his face, "How's life been?" he asked. After all this time without seeing her he wished he had something less stupid to say. Oh well, Chaviva was probobly his best friend. She was used to his stupid corny lines. In addition to the stupid jokes he always trys to tell.
James fixed his hat and looked back at Chaviva. He had missed this place. He liked it here. Even if he wasn't the most responcible he hoped he would actually be some help. He wondered if there were any students left that still needed a jumping teacher. James wasn't exactly brillion at dressage.....

Oblivious to the going ons in the champions barn, the heavy thuds of a large horse galloping and the panting of both the teenager and the gelding emerged as the slid to a halt at the barn door. "Chaviva!" A deep voice yelled, a severe note of worry held within it. "Chaviva, we need you!"
Mark pushed open the door, his muscular arms moving it out of the way as his long stride carried him into the Champions barn. He hesitated for a moment, seeing an older man he didn't know but soon his mouth was opening once more. His hands were on his knees as he fought to catch his breath, he and Joke had galloped all the way from the jumping rings. "Amanda... Heather fell off, hit a tree... helmet broke, I think...unconcience... Waco gone." He struggled to make his words make sense without losing any time. Now was the time to be calm but quick, exactly what he was doing.

"Life's been dull and very free of corn and cheese lately." now THAT was cornier and cheesier than anything he ever said. She gave him a half hug and then stepped back. "You're looking a little over-fit don't you think?" she loved to kid him on weight, "Your horses are doing great though...what great kids. This year has been wonderful so far, lots of new students. A few in particular, I finally got Micah up here so I can correct him on bad riding. Then we've got Liz, who is riding a spunky horse who hates dressage, and Ebony who likes no one, and Dan who's impossible to figure out, Tirzah and Calli who are both sweet girls and very talented...and I could go on and on... Mark's another character I'd like you to meet. "
She whirled suddenly as she heard galloping hoovbeats near the barn, now that was a no-no!! Mark suddenly appeared at the door, his flying hair and wild eyes. He seemed to scream her name and Joke was poking his head in the door now, obviously breathing fairly hard from a fast run. "What about Amanda? Heather fell of Waco and broke her helmet on a tree??" Chaviva was rather puzzled but acted with out thinking long, "James, call the doctor! I'm going out now, Mark come now, explain to me...show me where we're going!" She swung her hand quickly to Ansam's stall door, in one motion grabbing two leads and the halter she expertly set it on her mare's head and swung up bareback.

James had opened his mouth to reply. A spunky horse who hates dressage. Wow that sounded familair. Oh, that was it, both his horses. Neither of them were big on dressage, and they were both quite spunky. But he had a feeling that that wasn't exactly what chaviva had in mind. "Can't wait to...." he stoped. He spotted a boy standing there having galloped over in quite a rush.
Somebody hurt? That wasn't good. Usually he refused to use his phone in the barn, but the was an emergency. He pulled out his phone and called the doctor. Of course, somebody got hurt just as he arrived. Rivers Edge knew something was wrong and tossed her head waiting for James to swing on her back. When he didn't she looked quite rejected.....
